New Greater Seattle Badminton League announced

The Greater Seattle Badminton League is a new recreational doubles league that aims to be enjoyable for all players. 8 teams have registered and each team will field 6-10 players, the format is similar to the Boba Cup and the Pacific Cup but runs for 8 weeks. Teams are charged only $10 per player to enter. The Greater Seattle Badminton League is a terrrific way to meet and play with new players in our growing badminton community in the Seattle area.

Players of all levels at all clubs are participating including solo player who signed up. Each team plas gainst each other only once over the course of the 8-week season, with tie rules in place that comprise 5 doubles matches. Team captains will ensure players play only two matches against their opponents and only once with the same partner. Teams will have one week to play each other at an agreed-upon day, time, and location.

In addition to providing a fun environment, the league also aims to get beginners involved in the sport. The league encourages the use of the Badminton America app, which will help players schedule their events while using the new, improved dual (singles and doubles) rating system. The season started in April and will run through the end of May.
